Unicode text

Works in any app, website or phone.

Bijoy text only looks like Bangla in a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ. Without the font installed you see Latin letters like “Avgvi”, which is normal. Unicode Bangla works everywhere: Facebook, Google, phones and modern Word.

How to use the Bijoy to Unicode

  1. Choose Bijoy → Unicode or Unicode → Bijoy.
  2. Paste your text; the converted text appears as you type.
  3. Copy it or download it as a .txt file. Swap turns the result into the input to convert it back.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Bijoy text look like “Avgvi ‡mvbvi”?

Bijoy stores Bangla as English letters and symbols that a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ draws as Bangla shapes. Without that font installed you see the letters themselves. Unicode Bangla doesn't need a special font, so it shows correctly everywhere.

Are conjuncts, reph and vowel signs converted correctly?

Yes. Vowel signs typed before the letter (ি, ে, ৈ, and ো/ৌ around it), reph (র্), ya-phala and ra-phala, and conjuncts like ক্ষ, ন্ত্র and স্ব are put in the right order. Bangla digits are converted too.

How do I use the Bijoy result?

Paste it into Word, Photoshop or InDesign and select a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ. Many printing presses and older government forms still need Bijoy text.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
