- Paste a JSON array of objects or click Open file (.json).
- Choose the delimiter, how nested arrays are written, and whether to include a header row.
- Tick “Excel-friendly” if the CSV will be opened in Excel, so accents and emoji display correctly.
- Check the preview table, then copy the CSV or download it as a .csv file.
Frequently asked questions
How are nested objects converted?
Nested objects are flattened into dot-path columns: { "address": { "city": "London" } } becomes a column named address.city. Arrays are written as JSON text ([1,2]) or, if you prefer, as indexed columns like tags.0 and tags.1.
What if objects have different keys?
The CSV gets the union of all keys, in the order they first appear. Objects that don't have a key simply get an empty cell in that column.
Why do accents look wrong when I open the CSV in Excel?
Excel assumes a legacy encoding unless the file starts with a UTF-8 byte order mark. The “Excel-friendly” option adds the BOM and Windows (CRLF) line endings so names like José or emoji display correctly.
What JSON shapes are supported?
An array of objects is ideal. An array of arrays is written row by row, a single object becomes one row, and an object that wraps one array — like { "data": [ … ] } — is detected and that array is used.
What is CSV formula injection?
Spreadsheet apps run cells starting with =, +, - or @ as formulas, which can be abused if the data came from untrusted users. The protection option prefixes such values with an apostrophe so they display as text.
Is my JSON uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.
