Frequently asked questions
What is JSON-LD schema markup?
A small script that describes a page in schema.org terms (a product's price, an article's author, a business's address) so search engines understand it and can show rich results such as stars, prices or FAQs.
Where do I put the JSON-LD code?
Anywhere in the page's HTML, usually in the <head>. It doesn't change how the page looks. One page can have several JSON-LD blocks.
Will adding schema guarantee rich results?
No. Valid markup makes a page eligible, but Google decides whether to show rich results. The markup must also match what visitors can see on the page.
Do FAQ rich results still show in Google?
Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites. FAQ markup is still valid and helps search engines and AI tools understand your questions and answers.
