Frequently asked questions
Is my Excel file uploaded?
No. The workbook is read and converted inside your browser, so the data never leaves your device.
What's the difference between “As shown in Excel” and “Raw”?
As shown keeps Excel's formatting: 1,234.50, 25%, 09/12/2025. Raw gives plain values that other programs read reliably: 1234.5, 0.25, 2025-12-09.
Why do accents look wrong when I open the CSV in Excel?
Excel needs a UTF-8 marker to read accented and non-Latin text correctly. Keep “Excel-friendly” ticked: it adds that marker and Windows line endings.
Should I use comma or semicolon?
Use comma for most programs and databases. Choose semicolon if your Excel uses a comma as the decimal separator (common in Europe), otherwise Excel puts everything in one column.
What happens to formulas, colours and charts?
A CSV holds only values, so each formula is saved as its last calculated result, the same as Excel's own Save as CSV. Formatting, colours, charts and other sheets aren't included.
Can I convert all sheets at once?
Yes. When the workbook has several sheets, “All sheets (ZIP)” saves one CSV per sheet in a single ZIP file.
