How to use the Website Status Checker

  1. Enter the website address, e.g. example.com or a full URL to a specific page.
  2. Click Check status.
  3. Read the verdict banner: green means up, amber means the server answered with an error, red means down.
  4. Use the timing breakdown and details to see where it fails or slows down, then click Check again to retest.

Frequently asked questions

Is the site down for everyone or just me?

We check from our own server, not your device. If we reach the site but you can't, the problem is on your side — your connection, DNS cache, VPN, firewall or browser. If we can't reach it either, it's likely down for everyone.

What do the timing phases mean?

DNS is looking up the site's IP address, Connect is opening the TCP connection, TLS is the HTTPS handshake, Server wait is how long the server took to start answering (time to first byte), and Download is receiving the page.

Why does it say 'Up with errors'?

The server answered, but with a 4xx code — for example 403 Forbidden from bot protection, or 404 Not Found for a wrong path. The server itself is running.

The site works in my browser but shows as down here. Why?

Some sites block traffic from data centres or automated checks, or only allow certain countries. Firewalls and CDNs like Cloudflare can also challenge unknown visitors.

What should I do if a site is down only for me?

Restart your router, flush your DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns on Windows), try another browser or turn off your VPN, or switch to a public DNS resolver such as 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8.
