Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
90°, 180° and 270° turns move pixels exactly with no smoothing. Saving as PNG is lossless; JPG and WebP are re-compressed at the quality you choose (92% by default looks identical). Free angles need slight interpolation.
Why does my photo look rotated on my phone but not on my computer?
Cameras often save the picture sideways plus an EXIF “orientation” tag. Some apps ignore the tag. This tool applies the tag and saves the pixels upright, so the photo looks right everywhere.
What's the difference between flip horizontal and vertical?
Horizontal flip mirrors left and right (like a selfie mirror); vertical flip turns the image upside down as a mirror image. A 180° rotation is the same as flipping both ways.
What happens to the corners when I rotate by a small angle?
With “Expand canvas” on, the image grows so nothing is cut off and the empty corners are filled with your colour, or left transparent in PNG/WebP. Turn it off to keep the original size.
Can I rotate many images at once?
Yes — add up to 50 images and the same rotation and flip is applied to all of them, then download everything as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The images are processed by your browser and never leave your device.
