Frequently asked questions
Can a watermark be removed?
A watermark added this way becomes part of the page content, so it can’t simply be switched off like a comment. Someone with PDF editing software could still delete it, so a watermark deters copying rather than preventing it.
Will the watermark hide my text?
Use a low opacity (20–40%) so the content shows through. The watermark is drawn on top of the page, which keeps it visible even on full-page scans and images.
What image works best as a watermark?
A PNG with a transparent background, such as a logo, gives the cleanest result. JPG works too but will show its rectangular background; lower the opacity to soften it.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Choose “Selected pages” and enter page numbers or ranges like 1-3, 7. Other pages are left exactly as they were.
Does it handle landscape and rotated pages?
Yes. Position and angle are calculated on the page as it is displayed, so a centred diagonal watermark looks the same on portrait, landscape and rotated pages.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The PDF is edited locally in your browser and the watermarked copy is saved directly to your device.
