Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Pages are drawn with Mozilla’s pdf.js directly in your browser, so the file and any password you enter stay on your device.

Which DPI should I choose?

72 DPI matches the page size on a typical screen and gives small files; 150 DPI is a good default for sharing and slides; 300 DPI is print quality but produces large images (an A4 page becomes about 2480 × 3508 pixels).

JPG or PNG — which is better?

JPG gives much smaller files and is ideal for scanned pages and photos. PNG is lossless, so text and line drawings stay perfectly sharp, but files are larger.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. Choose “Choose pages” and type page numbers and ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each page becomes its own image named after the original file and page number.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Yes, if you know the password: the tool asks for it and decrypts the file locally. It cannot open a PDF whose password you don’t know.

Why was a page rendered at a lower DPI?

Huge pages such as posters or engineering drawings can exceed 50 megapixels at high DPI, which can crash a browser tab. Those pages are automatically scaled down to stay under the limit, and you’ll see a note when that happens.
