How to use the PDF Studio
- Open one or more PDFs. Pages appear on the left and in the middle, ready to edit.
- Pick a tab (Edit, Comment, Organize pages, Fill & Sign, Protect, Convert, Compress) and a tool from its ribbon, then click or drag on the page.
- Select any object to move it, resize it or change its colour, font and size on the right. Ctrl+Z undoes any step.
- Press Save PDF: your edits, page order and the protection and compression you switched on go into one new PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. PDF Studio runs entirely in your browser, on your own device, so confidential documents never reach a server. You can even go offline after the page has loaded.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Cover it with Whiteout, then add your new text on top: the result looks like edited text. The covered text is hidden, not deleted from the file, so don't use Whiteout to remove confidential information.
How do I sign a PDF?
Open the Fill & Sign tab, choose Sign and click where the signature goes. Draw it, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a picture of it. Drag it into place and resize it from the corner. The signature stays on your device.
Can I combine several PDFs?
Yes. Add more PDFs with “+ Add PDF”: their pages join the end, and in Organize pages you can drag them into any order, rotate, duplicate, delete or add blank pages, then save one combined file.
What do Protect and Compress do?
Protect adds a password (AES-256), a text watermark, page numbers or document info when you save. Compress makes the saved file smaller; PDF Studio keeps the compressed version only when it's really smaller.
Can I black out private information for good?
Yes. In Protect, choose Redact and drag over names, numbers or anything private. When you save, each redacted page is rebuilt as a picture with those areas blacked out, so the hidden text is removed from the file, not just covered, and can't be copied or searched.
Can I split a PDF or add photos to it?
Yes. In Organize pages, Split saves one PDF per page, every few pages, or a new part at each page you select (as a ZIP). Add images turns photos into pages, and Scan to PDF opens Image Studio to scan paper with your camera.
Can I crop pages, add links or initials?
Yes. Crop page keeps only the part of the page you mark. Link makes an area open a web address. In Fill & Sign, Initials works like a signature but smaller.
What if my PDF is damaged?
PDF Studio tries to repair a damaged file automatically when you open it, using the same repair as the Repair PDF tool, and tells you when it did.
Can I turn the pages into images?
Yes. Convert exports every page, with your edits, as JPG or PNG at screen, standard or print quality. Several pages download as one .zip.
Is there a page or file limit?
Up to 20 PDFs and 200 MB in total per session, with no daily limit and no watermark of ours. Very large files depend on your device's memory.
