PDF to Word Converter

Turn a PDF into a Word document you can edit. The text, paragraphs and headings are rebuilt in your browser, so the PDF never leaves your device. Simple documents convert well; complex layouts won't look exactly the same.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

Not always. The text, paragraphs, headings, bold and italic come across so you can edit it. Multi-column pages, tables, images and exact positions are not rebuilt, so complex layouts need tidying in Word.

Why is my Word file empty?

The PDF is probably a scan: its pages are pictures without a text layer. Run it through OCR first, then convert.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read with pdf.js and the Word file is built inside your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Yes, if you know the password: enter it when asked. It's only used in your browser to open the file.
