Frequently asked questions

Which PDFs convert well?

PDFs made by software, such as bank statements, invoices and reports, where the table text lines up in columns. Scanned PDFs (pictures of pages), merged cells and tables without clear columns won't convert well.

Why are some columns merged or split?

Tables are rebuilt from where the text sits on the page. When columns are very close together or text wraps inside a cell, values can land in the wrong column; a quick tidy-up in Excel fixes it.

Are numbers real numbers in Excel?

Yes. Values like 1,234.50 become numbers you can add up, while codes with leading zeros and long IDs stay as text.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read with pdf.js and the workbook is built in your browser.
