These are Unicode symbols, not real fonts, so they paste anywhere text goes. Some apps or older phones show boxes (☐) for rare characters, screen readers often read them badly, and search engines don't treat them as normal words — use them for names, bios and highlights rather than whole posts.
Mix styles — make just one word bold, italic or anything else

Frequently asked questions

How do I make text bold on Instagram or X?

Neither app has a bold button for posts or bios. This tool swaps your letters for Unicode "Mathematical Bold" characters, which look bold everywhere because the boldness is part of the character itself.

What's the difference between serif bold and sans bold?

Serif bold (𝐀𝐁𝐂) has small feet on the letters, like a book font. Sans bold (𝗔𝗕𝗖) is clean and modern and usually matches app interfaces better.

Do numbers work in bold?

Yes for serif bold and sans bold — Unicode includes bold digits (𝟏𝟐𝟑 and 𝟭𝟮𝟯). Bold italic has no digits, so numbers stay normal in those styles. Punctuation always stays normal.

Can screen readers read bold Unicode text?

Not reliably. Many read each character by name or skip it, and search engines don't see the normal words. Bold a name or a few words, not a whole post.

Can I make only one word bold?

Yes — open Mix styles under the list, select the word and apply a bold style. The rest of your text stays normal.
