These are Unicode symbols, not real fonts, so they paste anywhere text goes. Some apps or older phones show boxes (☐) for rare characters, screen readers often read them badly, and search engines don't treat them as normal words — use them for names, bios and highlights rather than whole posts.

Frequently asked questions

How does upside-down text work?

Unicode has no "rotate" setting, so each letter is replaced by a character that looks like it turned over — ɐ for a, ǝ for e, ɹ for r — and the order is reversed so the whole line reads correctly when rotated.

Why don't some capital letters flip?

Letters such as H, I, N, O, S, X and Z look the same when rotated, so they stay as they are. For others we use the closest look-alike that exists in Unicode, which isn't always perfect.

Will upside-down text show everywhere?

Lowercase letters use common phonetic characters and display almost everywhere. A few capitals come from rarer scripts and may show as boxes on older devices.

Can I turn upside-down text back to normal?

Yes — paste it into Unstyle Text. It detects the flipped letters, reverses the order and swaps them back.

What's the difference between upside down and mirror?

Upside down rotates text 180°. Mirror flips it left to right, like reading in a mirror; only some letters have a mirrored look-alike, so it works best on short words.
