Frequently asked questions
What is Title Case?
Title Case capitalises the main words of a heading. This tool follows common style-guide rules: short articles, conjunctions and prepositions (a, an, the, and, of, in, to…) stay lower case unless they're the first or last word, and acronyms like NASA or brand names like iPhone are kept as written.
What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
Both join words without spaces and capitalise each word; camelCase starts with a lower-case letter (userName), PascalCase starts with a capital (UserName). JavaScript variables usually use camelCase, while classes and React components use PascalCase.
When should I use snake_case or kebab-case?
snake_case (words joined by underscores) is standard for Python variables and database columns. kebab-case (hyphens) is used in URLs, CSS class names and file names. CONSTANT_CASE is used for constants and environment variables.
Can I convert a list of names at once?
Yes. Programmer cases (camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and so on) are applied line by line, so a column of names pasted one per line converts into a matching column.
Does it work with accented letters and other languages?
Yes. Conversions are Unicode-aware, so letters like é, ü and ß change case correctly. Scripts without upper and lower case, such as Bangla or Chinese, are left unchanged.
